I managed to finish the Bumbershoot piece within about 45 minutes of the scheduled press preview today, which had been a personal goal. I am content with the way the form turned out as it seems to have elements of the eternal return piece from January, some parts of the Los Cabos piece and the interior exterior flow of the sticks element from Sticks, Straws, Sleeves and Lids also in January. It is sort of nice to see the lessons learned in previous installations making themselves known in newer ones. When I get back to Charlotte on Thursday and resume work on the show at The McColl Center It will be interesting to carry the lessons of the Bumbershoot piece into that work. Tomorrow I still need to shoot some more high res documentation, but after that I should be able to see the Seattle sculpture park before catching my flight back to Charlotte. So long Bumbershoot hello McColl.
Just taking a moment to mark the end of this journey, and the moment that got used to west coast time, just as i prepare to board a plane back east.
