The Fresno Piece, 2012 55,000 wooden coffee stir sticks woven in place and held by tension, 3,000 coffee cup sleeves stacked one inside of another, braided aluminum cable The Fresno piece was a commissioned site-specific installation for the Center for Creativity and the Arts at Fresno State University in California. The work was created over the course of a 12 day residency, additionally a suite of prints was produced while in residence. The piece is sited in the Madden Library Ellipse gallery and is designed to engage both the unique patterns and textures of the gallery architecture as well as the historic steinway piano housed within the gallery.
