I have been kind of silent about the progress with my upcoming temporary outdoor installation Field of Good Fortune. I really just didn’t want to share boring news like paper work shuffling. The good news I now have a more refined and finalized plan for the install. It looks like it will be available for enjoyment around Memorial Day, and remain on display for approximately a month.
A new google sketchup site plan with the possible placement of the 6 fortunes for the field.
I recently met with one potential fabricator/materials person and I am waiting to hear back from them about the possibility of collaborating on this project. I was able to find a much better range of material possibilities, and look forward to the printing of the large scale fortunes in the coming months.
In the meantime when I was in Milledgeville for the close of Two Rooms, I dashed off a couple of fortune related screen prints, both of which are available in the shop section of my site. I imagine this will be merely the beginning of a slew of fortune related editions, and that a glow in the dark fortune t shirt is inevitable.
Failure is the mother of success, seemed like a good note to start off the series with.
This print, titled Absent, is my personal meditation on public sculpture combining imagery of my favorite found public sculptures, with imagery for the Field of Good Fortune.
