Two Rooms has been put to bed and now I can get on to the next challenge of creating monumental fortune cookie fortunes for the field of good fortune in may. It was a lovely opening with abundant amounts of snacks for everyone’s enjoyment. Much to my surprise the lecture room was packed wall to wall and across the floor with some of the crowd spilling into the hallway where a speaker carried the audio of the talk I gave. By the end of the night the exhaustion of the marathon building of the piece followed by a marathon 24hours in the print studio struck me hard and I felt like I had jet lag without even leaving my time zone.
Here are some views of the improvised seating arrangements during the talk.
and here are some glimpses of the snacks offered up for the opening.
Only domestic cheese here none of that fancy foreign cheese that would require a butler in a tuxedo with a covered dish.
It was fun watching people explore various points of entry into the milledgeville piece. In the end it was one of the more restrained pieces I have done, most likely influenced by the fact that I just saw the McColl center piece on the ground a two weeks ago and really liked it.
after the final color of the south carolina snow man print was layed in.
somewhere around color two.
Here’s the other print resting before being packed away.
the most important print technique I know, furrowing the brow and looking perplexed at my bonehead mistakes.
There he is the south carolina snow man in 4 color process.
This one is called “hey look at that”
