Today was a good first day. In my attempt to make this installation and exhibition a comprehensive show of the “Have Sticks Will Travel”/”Goldsworthy of the Coffeeshop” work I have had to think a bit more about pacing of the show and pacing of my install.
since I am trying to weight all three rooms individually and in relation to each other I am dividing my time at the beginning of the install setting up and laying out all the elements at once.
The more time I spend engaged with this space the more excited I get about seeing the finished product on the other end. Tomorrow the artwork that is currently being stored in the back gallery will head out and I can begin to layout the print room with the curator. As with all day ones, my mindset is slowly shifting from home based mode to residency/install mode. From tomorrow forward each day will live up to the exhibitions title with nothing but sticking, and stacking to make a show.
