I really love the incongruity of the wall vinyl, the woven sticks, the gallery space and the old stair case. There is something really great about an art gallery carved out of an antebellum home.
Lest you think curators aren’t dedicated to the cause here is Carlos Herrera, my curator on this show getting involved in adjusting some of the lights that I built into the show. Don’t try this at home as that is an official curators long distance light adjusting stick
I crashed into the GC & SU print studio today and worked on these screenprints,
I started building a new collagraph plate using some sleeves with the dot pattern on the inside instead of the corrugated pattern I had been using, hopefully I can get this finished before I give my talk and go to the opening tomorrow.
Another amazing thing about GC &SU is the really nice digital printing facility they have, I was able to design and print an exhibition poster for the show.
Ooh here comes the poster two by two off the printer.
And for my next trick I will clean up this mess and get back in the print studio and make some more art.
