Day six of the los Cabos piece will be a day that will live in infamy. At 10am this morning i was making what I thought would be simple tweaks to the form when I noticed a rift starting up top. In the past I can usually coax the rift out to a point where I can secure that area, but not this time. before I could fire up the video to document the event the entire side of the sculpture came down. An hour later the folks from the Gringo Gazette showed up with their video crew to do an interview, I assure you it was not my most composed moment on camera. After a series of anxious rantings and a short break I did the best I could to forge ahead with a new direction.
After 12hours, 2 fish tacos, and a coffee, I am finally feeling back on track to finish in time for the opening on Friday. Tomorrow and Thursday I just need to secure the bottom edge and clean up the space before the show opens.
A Little post-collapse mended after glow.
The rest of the vinyl sign showed up so I guess I don’t need to go by one name any more.
