Yesterday, with the help of Columbia College gallery director Jackie Adams, I was able to finish the install of fortunes.
Here we are carrying the final panel to be installed. It was really nice when the work was done stepping back and seeing how similar the finished piece was to the digital proposals. I think this is helped in part by making sure the fortunes were scanned and reproduced faithfully the same way the proposal images were made. I also think no small part of the magic is owed to the crew at Signs Now Columbia, and their amazing printer and equipment. The final effect is nothing short of surreal as these crisp digital images of stained and crumbled fortunes are juxtaposed against the beautiful landscaped green space.
After the final bolts were tightened and everything was cleaned up, the great folks at WLTX, who have been following the progress for months, showed up to tape a spot for the 7 oclock news.
